Dean returns to NMC

Cynthia Deleon Guerrero resigned in January, citing personal reasons.

NMC said Deleon Guerrero is now the new director of the Office of Admissions and Records, the post she held in 2007.

Deleon Guerrero also worked as director of the college’s School of Education.

NMC didn’t say whether Deleon Guerrero applied or was hired to fill the position.

Acting NMC interim President Bobbie Merfalen said they were extremely pleased to welcome Deleon Guerrero back to the college.

“Cyndi is no stranger to the Office of Admissions and Records, and we are glad she is back to a place where she can continue to have a significant and direct impact on the quality of education and the services we provide to our students,” Merfalen said.

As director of admissions and records, Deleon Guerrero will oversee all aspects of admissions and registration for the college.

She will help enhance admissions procedures and will lead the development of admissions goals and strategies, NMC said.

“Cyndi has a great attitude and has worked hard to establish a reputation of being highly dependable and proactive,” said Leo Pangelinan, dean of student services.

“We are glad to have her back on our team.”

Deleon Guerrero said she is happy to be back at NMC.

“The staff at [the Office of Admissions and Records] has made great progress in enhancing the services that the office provides, and I want to continue that momentum,” she added.
