Santy was arrested for throwing his wife under the table on Easter Sunday. The wife broke her right arm, police said.
Santy promised to appear in court as ordered, and to comply with all terms and conditions for his pretrial release that included stay-away orders.
Chief Prosecutor Michael Ernest, who represented the government, and Assistant Public Defender Richard Miller, the defendant’s counsel, submitted a stipulated motion for Santy’s release on an appearance bond.
Santy was charged with aggravated assault and battery, assault and battery, and two counts of disturbing the peace.
A witness who accompanied the victim to the hospital told police she and the victim were sitting under the Utt at their residence in Chinatown, when the defendant came and “just carried [the victim] up and threw her across the table,” causing her to land hard under another table on the concrete floor.
The victim landed face down with her right arm bent, police added.
Earlier, the witness told police their family was having a party when the victim fell asleep on the picnic table.
