Ricky Delgado, who is also the president and CEO of IT&E, said in an email that although there is no definite date yet, they are looking at probably early April or early May for the official takeover of the operations.
“We are not sure of the date but there are no planned changes in the operations except we will try to improve our service,” Delgado said.
In November last year, Shell announced that it was selling its downstream marketing businesses on Guam, Saipan and Palau to IP&E Holdings.
IP&E Holdings will take over 28 Shell stations including eight on Saipan.
Delgado said earlier they may be bring in additional workforce to fill in mostly senior positions, but he gave assurance that the over a hundred employees at the Shell stations will be retained.
Once IP&E takes over the Shell operations, the Delgado family will have invested approximately $150 million in the region, covering investments in aviation services, logistics solutions, telecommunications, fuels and lubricants supply and marketing.
