The newly acquired technology will be presented to the participants of the continuing education training that will be held on Wednesday next week at the Aqua Resort Club.
To date, the CNMI has 85 public water systems, including the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. They are required by commonwealth drinking water regulations to employ certified water operators.
Julianna Dela Rosa of DEQ’s safe drinking water information system administration, said the four-hour training held quarterly gives each water operators credits for certification.
Each training session, she said, tackles different subjects. It is intended for currently certified water operators.
Next week, the training set from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. will focus on sampling procedures for total coliform samples.
There will also be a short presentation on computer-based water operator testing.
