Dialysis patient ends up in ICU

The family members of Daniel Villagomez are “mad” at the surgeon who took care of him when he started his hemodialysis treatment at the hospital.

One of the patient’s children said he was surprised when they learned that his father was brought to the  ICU.

Hours earlier, the surgeon, Dr. John Yarofalir, assured him that everything was “normal.”

He said a needle was inserted into his father’s right thigh because his left arm had already “clogged up.”

But while the needle was being inserted into his father’s right thigh, it began bleeding profusely.

The patient’s son said Yarofalir told him the bleeding was natural.

“My father was bleeding like a pig and he kept on telling us it’s normal,” the son said.

The last time he checked, he was told that his father’s thigh was swelling and there was internal bleeding, which was why he needed to be brought to the ICU.

The son, said the hospital was working on his father’s medical referral.

Variety learned that there was no nephrologist on duty yesterday.

The hospital had to call a nephrologist on Guam to seek medical advice every time there was a patient that had to be attended.

Variety was told that Yarofalir was “busy” yesterday and wasn’t available for coment.
