Hofschneider has been on the CDA Board since 2005 representing Tinian.
CDA, the government’s financial and lending institution, is governed by a seven-member board who are appointed by the governor with the consent of the Senate.
The Senate Committee on Executive Appointments and Government Investigations reported to Senate President Pete P. Reyes that both nominees have complied with the required documents to process and confirm their appointments.
The two were told to submit copies of their statement of financial interest to the Office of the Public Auditor. Their resumés and drug test receipts must also be submitted to the committee.
“The committee is convinced that Ms. Tina I. Kukkun has great interest in improving the well-being of our islands by serving the Civil Service Commission,” the committee chaired by Sen. Paterno S. Hocog, R-Rota, stated in its report.
In a separate report, the committee also endorsed the confirmation of Hofschneider.
“Your committee has examined Mr. Edwin M. Hofschneider’s education, credentials and community involvement and is convinced that he will be a valuable asset on this important board and will serve to the best of his ability,” the panel said.
