DPS looking for second defendant in Micro Beach shooting

“Detectives have identified the second suspect as Alex Palacios Borja Jr. [who] is suspected to be the person in possession of the rifle that was shot in the air at the time of the incident,” DPS spokesman Thomas Aguon Blas Jr. said.

On Sunday, Blas said Superior Court Associate Judge Kenneth L. Govendo issued a warrant of arrest for Borja for the charge of illegal possession of a firearm.

As a result of the follow-up investigation conducted by detectives with the Criminal Investigation Bureau, Blas said Borja was identified as the second suspect in the disturbance and assault with a dangerous weapon case.

The first defendant, AnDave Camacho, 26, was arrested hours after the shooting incident was reported to DPS.

Camacho was released to his brother Spencer Camacho as his third party custodian, and ordered to post a $40,000 in unsecured or appearance bond.

Govendo directed Camacho to stay away from a witness, and to observe curfew from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Blas said the department is asking the community for assistance in locating Borja who “at this time is still at large.”

Anyone with information as to Borja’s whereabouts may call the department’s Criminal Investigation Bureau at 664-9042/9045.

Those who want to remain anonymous may call the NMI Crime Stoppers hotline at 234-7272.
