THE Department of Public Safety responded to 105 criminal incidents and 25 traffic-related incidents from March 3 to 9, 2024.
According to the police blotter provided by DPS on Monday, of the 130 incidents, 74 were 911 service calls to the police.
During the same period, DPS responded to three assault incidents; four assault & battery incidents; six assault with a dangerous weapon incidents; five domestic violence incidents; 52 disturbing the peace incidents; four criminal mischief incidents; four criminal trespass incidents; one child abuse/neglect incident; three burglary incidents; 21 theft incidents; and two sexual assault incidents.
DPS made 11 arrests.
As for traffic incidents, DPS responded to five auto-ran off roadway incidents; one reckless driving incident; two driving under the influence incidents; six auto-fixed object incidents; two vehicle theft incidents; and two auto-parked vehicle incidents.
DPS’ public information officer, Police Sgt. Fred Sato, said, “The stats provided are just calls made to our 911 dispatchers and responses from our officers. All active criminal complaints are taken, then forwarded to our Criminal Investigation Bureau. All traffic related incidents, including fatality reported crashes, are forwarded to our Highway Patrol Investigation units.”
Sato added, “As part of my goals as the DPS PIO, I want to bring back the weekly police blotter stats report to be shared with our community. I think it’s important for the public to know what our officers are doing on a daily basis.”
