RUDOLFO SN Borja, who completed the CNMI Judiciary’s Drug Court Program last month, thanked Senate President Edith Deleon Guerrero for supporting the rehabilitation program.
Borja wrote a letter “to express my gratitude for your continued support for the Drug Court Program.”
He said while in the program, he has managed to regain control of his life, adding that before joining, he “felt like I was about to be lost.”
Borja said when he decided to participate in the Drug Court Program he was “feeling defeated and broken.”
In the program, he was introduced to treatment and was provided with tools to help cope with his “triggers.” He was also introduced to a recovery community and support groups, such as Narcotics Anonymous as well as physical recovery and social support groups, which he said have been a big part of his recovery.
Borja now actively volunteers at the Community Guidance Center and helps coordinate events for support groups.
“Being of service and paying it forward has been really rewarding and is a very special part of the process,” he said. “I am also employed at G4S Secure Solutions as a security officer. I am truly grateful for this opportunity and will continue to be of service to my community. Thank you for your support,” Borja told the Senate president.
