DYS to recognize 15 youth leaders, one organization today

Vivian Sablan, DYS overall parent leadership committee chairwoman, said to be recognized during a program at the Minachom Atdao pavilion in Susupe at 11 a.m. today are Angelray T. Guerrero, Kycel Butters, Philippe Lacson, Keanah Deleon Guerrero, Jaiden Santos, Alvin Arcega, Nikki Yutuc, Mikhail Alcantara, Joy Samonte, Eufemio Feria, Ha’ani Aldan, Peter Carayoan, Jinky Kintaro, Kayla Borja, Kassandra Royal, and the Public School System’s Teen Talk organization.

These youth leaders and organizations were nominated by various schools and youth organizations, and this will be the first time for DYS to give such recognition.

The culmination of the second summer youth leadership camp at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium will be held tomorrow.

Sablan said 141 young campers will receive certificates of completion and t-shirts for participating in the second summer youth leadership camp.

The participants, six to 13 years old, joined the two-week camp which started on Aug. 9, two days after the first summer camp finished in Kagman on Aug. 7.

“We are inviting the community to join us [today] for the recognition of our youth leaders, and for the fun activities with the summer youth camp participants and their families [tomorrow],” she said.
