Economic restoration summit on Rota, Tinian

These events will present the report from the first summit conducted on Saipan two years ago.

Rota mayor’s chief of staff Efren Atalig said their office is expected to present an economic plan for the island.

“This is a good opportunity for the people of Rota to know what the government can offer to boost our economy,” he said, as he encouraged community members to attend the summit.

Rep. Teresita A. Santos, Ind.-Rota, said the event is very important as it will discuss how the island’s economy can recover from its dismal condition.

“I am strongly urging the people to attend this summit,” she added.

The participants on Rota and Tinian will include municipal officials, including the resident directors, business and community members.

The event will start at 10:45 a.m. on Rota in the mayor’s conference room, and at 9 a.m. on Tinian at the public library.

During the summit, the commerce department will present a preview of the upcoming economic restoration summit on Saipan which will be held at the Saipan World Resort on March 22-23.

Participants are also expected to discuss which industry Tinian and Rota prefer to focus on and want to learn more about.
