Empty Vessel Ministry Foundation director and founder Rose Smith said the amount will be used to help provide school supplies to 500 students from struggling families on Saipan.
Smith said they also received gifts and in kind donations like gift certificates from supporters and sponsors worth over $1,500 which they used as prizes for Saipan’s Next Top Chef competition held at the Pacific Islands Club on July 16. Tickets for the event was $25 each.
Smith said part of the proceeds from fundraising events will be used to continue to support the foundation’s ongoing programs in Kenya, the Philippines and Bangladesh.
Smith extends her thanks to all sponsors, participants and supporters who purchased tickets and supported the foundation’s fundraising efforts.
