Eucon classical music concert impresses audience

The concert, which was organized by the Eucon college student body, aimed to raise funds for the various events and upcoming activities of the students.

For over an hour, the musicians filled the auditorium with the lovely strains of music from the piano, flute, violin, trumpet and traditional Chinese instruments as they played famous classical pieces.

The musicians played “Beethoven Opus 13 Sonata in C Minor” by James Martin, “Music of the Night” from the “Phantom of the Opera” by Dr. Yoh Shirato, “Auld Lang Syne” by Sylvester Laniyo, “Sheep May Safely Graze” by Dr. Shirato, “Tarantella” by Christa M. Wei, “Canon in D Major” by the string ensemble, “Glen Park” by Isaac Sun, “You Raise Me Up” by Christa Wei, “Butterfly Romance” by Joseph Ding, “Chacone” by Chrisian Wei Jr., and “The Trumpet Shall Sound” from Handel’s “Messiah” by Dr. Shirato.

For the final number, all the musicians came up on stage to perform the “Jasmine Flower,” a Chinese folk song which dates from the Qing dynasty.

Eucon International College acting director of Institutional Effectiveness Vilma Reyes earlier sought the support of the community to attend their first fundraising concert.

Eucon is located on Middle Road and has a population of over 300 students from  kindergarten to college.
