“We want to devolve their talents so that they can understand that talents are not for selfish use. Most of importantly they are using their talents to serve God. We are a Christian school so we emphasize on the eternal investments of their talents,” said Wei.
He said education should not only focus on one area. “We have students that may be average academically but excel in music or speech,” said Wei.
For Talent Week, students from kindergarten to 12th grade were divided into three groups: the Royal Archangels, the Maroon Pirates and the Black Jaguars.
Twenty best performances in music and speech were selected throughout the week and were featured during Friday’s performance night.
The students’ artworks were also displayed outside their classrooms.
During the performance night, the winning team was selected — the Black Jaguars, which will be treated to an ice cream party this week.
“The younger kids were adorable and the older kids had a lot of talent,” said Mark Vines, event coordinator.
“Talents are for helping others and should be used for serving others. We emphasize that they can use their talents to equip themselves in helping the society,” said Wei.
