Feds to meet with guest worker advocates

Today, leaders of guest worker groups are sponsoring a community forum that will be attended by U.S. Department of Homeland Security officials.

Rabby Syed, United Workers Movement president, said the forum is designed to answer important inquiries concerning the CNMI transitional worker program and U.S. immigration law.

“We expect 50 leaders from different groups in the society, including lawyers, to attend the forum,” he said.

DHS, he added, “will answer questions and provide information for an orderly transition from the CNMI permit system to the U.S. immigration system under the Immigration and Nationality Act.”

Syed said the forum will be held at Fiesta Filipino by Juvy Restaurant in Susupe across from the Saipan Grand Hotel on Dec. 2,  6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
