Asked if Fernandez continues to get her salary, King declined to comment.
Yesterday, the board met but failed to come up with a decision on whether to reinstate Fernandez.
Lorraine Cabrera remains the interim NMC president.
“We will have a continuing discussion,” King said.
The board will resume its meeting on Feb. 22.
King also declined to comment on the ongoing investigation of the Attorney General’s Office and an NMC team into controversies involving Fernandez.
Regents Charles Cepeda and Maria T. Peter were absent during yesterday’s board meeting.
Some NMC students tried to submit their petition to the board expressing their support for Fernandez.
Werlly Quitugua, one of the students who signed the petition, said they are hoping the board would listen to their concerns.
As of yesterday, she said the petition was already signed by 188 persons.
Variety learned later that the board planned to meet with the student regent, Miles Rodriguez, to discuss the students’ concerns.
