Borja paid $400 cash for his bail and posted $5,600 as unsecured bond to be issued by him and his third-party custodian, his elder brother Joseph M. Borja, also a firefighter.
Assistant Attorney General Michael Evangelista represented the government.
Dwayne Borja and Anthony D. Palacios, 22, were arrested for assaulting Manuel Villagomez Jr., on March 14, 2010 at The Flair Bar.
Palacios posted a $100 bail.
Dwayne Borja is facing one count of assault and battery, and one count of assault with a dangerous weapon for hitting Villagomez’s head with a beer bottle.
The prosecution filed two counts of assault and battery against Palacios.
Dwayne Borja was prohibited from consuming alcohol in public places, and was placed on curfew from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., except while on duty.
The court also told Dwayne Borja not to have any contact with his victim, potential witness, and stay away from The Flair Bar.
In other news, Govendo granted yesterday afternoon a motion for bail modification filed by Chief Public Defender Adam Hardwicke on behalf of Michael S. Fejeran, 43.
Fejeran was arrested on Monday night for assaulting and disturbing the peace of his wife at their residence on Navy Hill.
