Fitial expects runoff

The law states a runoff must be held 14 days after the Commonwealth Election Commission certified the results of the Nov. 7 general elections.

The absentee ballots  mailed back to the commission will be counted 14 days after the runoff.

Fitial said he can sense that a runoff  will be held.

“It’s going to be very interesting,” he added.  “The enthusiasm of the voters is very high.”

Fitial of the ruling Covenant Party is running against Rep. Heinz S. Hofschneider of the Republican Party, Independent former Sen. Ramon S. Deleon Guerrero, and Independent former Sen. Juan T. Guerrero.
