The Linden Museum in Stuttgart purchased a traditional canoe from Yap Traditional Navigation Societ and shipped it to Germany where it will be assembled for main display in the Pacific Exhibition.
The team, once in Germany, will assemble the canoe and rig it up for display.
Haleyalur will also provide general lectures on the art of traditional navigation at the Museum Planetarium.
Haleyalur and Tharngan were the two navigators who voyaged on their traditional canoes to Palau last year and were instrumental in organizing the first Yap Canoe Festival.
The team is expected back in Yap in two weeks and in time for their scheduled filming with BBC film crews.
Paul Lane of the Traditional Navigation Society said he is happy and pleased to be part of this project that should at least help to promote solidarity between Yap, Stuttgart and the rest of the world.
