Lt. Gov. Eloy S. Inos will be the acting governor until Fitial returns on Thursday next week, according to Press Secretary Angel A. Demapan.
The governor and the rest of the chief executives from the Micronesian region will meet with the Federal Regional Council Region IX in San Francisco.
The highlight of this meeting, Demapan said, will be a discussion of U.S. government resources for the outer Pacific islands.
Also participating are the Inter-Agency Group on Insular Affairs, the Pacific Islands Office of the Environmental Protection Agency and the Federal Regional Council’s Outer Pacific Committee.
