Mayor Donald G. Flores gave each of them a certificate of completion for the work they performed from Aug. 8 to Sept. 2.
Larissa Flores, who coordinated with the WIA applicants, said four trainees were assigned to do administrative work at the mayor’s office and another four performed community service.
The trainees are Nishen Artos, Luwan Reyes, Brian Rios, Elijay Teregeyo, Vicente Angui, Charles Ingrar Jr., Steven Benson and Jeffrey Garote.
They are the second batch of WIA trainees assigned to the mayor’s office. The first completed their training on Aug. 5.
Rios, who was assigned to the dog registration project, said “it was the best summer I’ve ever had and I learned a lot.”
Benson, who was assigned to the motor pool in Lower Base, said: “The job was very challenging but I managed to do it.”
Vinycia Seman, the mayor’s office executive secretary, said the WIA trainees learned what it means to be a public servant.
“I hope they also appreciate the role of the mayor in the community,” she added.
