Foremost Foods donates 215 cases of non-fat milk

The Office on Aging received 65 cases of non-fat milk while Karidat, the Commonwealth Health Center   and the Salvation Army got 50 each.

Foremost Foods Saipan representative Glen D. Hunter, who is also the group business manager of Transpacific International Inc., handed the milk donation to Aging Office Director Rosa Mondala.

“We’re all excited every time we come out here at the Manamko’ Center to make the donation because we know the product is good for you. Milk in general is good for you. Non-fat milk is superior,” Hunter said.

Mondala thanked Foremost for the donation, saying she is very grateful for the non-fat milk as a lot of the manamko’ have high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes.

Joseph Tudela, CHC food supervisor II for the dietary unit, said the milk donations will help their patients.

Judith Pangelinan, Karidat administrative officer, said they appreciate Foremost’s donation.

“We usually give a case to those who call in and ask for milk,” she said, referring to low-income individuals in the community.

Wayne Gillespie, ministry leader of the Salvation Army, also welcomed the milk donation.

“We are extremely grateful. This is a difficult time of the year, during the holidays. We just ran out of milk in our foodbank. Milk is a very important thing we distribute to all our clients,” Gillespie said.
