His remains will be repatriated to the Philippines next week.
United Filipino Organizations president Olive Yana said their group provided assistance to the “Friends of Larry,” which is headed by Gonzales’ former girlfriend Ester Gracia.
Yana said they were able to sell 500 tickets for $5 each for the lunch boxes they sold on Sunday at the Kilili pavilion in Susupe.
The funds will be sent to Gonzales’ family, she added.
United Workers Movement president Raby Syed said their fundraising drive is scheduled for March 20 at the Kilili Beach during the meeting of guest workers.
The funds collected will be sent to the family of Gonzales, he added.
Syed at the same time said the CNMI government should seriously look into the recent criminal incidents on island.
“They should raise the jail term or maximize the fines and sentencing,” he added.
