Garapan Mallards on their way to junior high

The ceremony was a red carpet event in which the faculty presented the 2011 Mallard Awards.

Awards given were Most Athletic to Franklin Kaipat, presented by Bob Coldeen; Most Likely to be Famous, Mia Sablan; Effort Award, Lenora Aldan; Most Cheerful, Levani Shira, Most Likely to be Governor, Walter Aldan; Confidence Award, Daryl Ubarra; Congressman Kilili presented Best Personality to  Catherine Biscocho; Initiative Award, Beda Cabrera; Most Likely to Succeed, Joselle Reyes; Perseverance Award, Maria Baconawa; class clown, Riva Taman, presented by Cuki Alvarez; Motivation Award, Mari Ito; Best Smile, Vinicia Borja, presented by Tina Sablan; Most Quiet, Ha’ane Eugenio, presented by Officer Jason Tarkong; Focus Award, Hong Yoon; Most Outspoken, Joanna Garcia; Teamwork Award, Angel Tan.

“Stay in school and come back and make a difference,” Officer Tarkong encourages the promotees.

Mia Sablan received the Principal’s Award while Joselle Reyes received this year’s Mallard Award.

“We really wanted the students to feel like they accomplished something. This is a very memorable time for them,” says Walter Mendez, sixth grade teacher at GES, in regards to the ceremony’s theme and venue.
