Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Lei Ogumoro said DPS Central received a report of a burglary and theft incident at 10:42 a.m. at the Yong Jia Corp. factory in Afetnas.
Ogumoro said based on preliminary investigation, two employees of the factory discovered the loss of the boxes of clothes.
She said police learned that the suspect or suspects’ point of entry was through a window.
The garment factory was last secured at 2 p.m. on Jan. 6.
The case is still under investigation and DPS is asking anyone with information about this crime to call the NMI Crime Stoppers Hotline at 234-7272.
All calls are kept anonymous, no caller ID is used and a reward of up to $1,000 will be given for any information that will lead to an arrest.
Last Dec. 31, three individuals robbed C.Y.C. Store in San Vicente.
Investigation showed that two masked men armed with knives demanded money from the store’s 22-year-old female cashier.
When another employee of the store came in, the third suspect armed with a blunt object struck the male employee on the chest.
The suspects then fled on foot with an undetermined amount of money and store merchandise. The case is still under investigation.
