Government, private sector support military program

Yesterday, ESGR officials and volunteers led by retired Major Gen. Benny M. Paulino met CNMI government officials and private sector employers.

Paulino, the ESGR Guam and CNMI state chairman, described the islands’ level of support as “very high” compared to the states’.

The ESGR in the Mariana islands was able to reach out to more than 1,100 employers, he added.

Paulino was accompanied by ESGR Employer Outreach Director Don Clark, ESGR CNMI area chairman Marino Fajardo, volunteer Rose Igitol, employer representative former Rep. Ed Salas, and military representative Janice Tenorio.

The group also met with Saipan Mayor Donald G. Flores and the Saipan and Northern Islands Municipal Council members.

The council chairman, Ramon B. Camacho, vice chairman Eric Diaz and member Ralph Yumul signed a statement supporting the ESGR.

ESGR is a U.S. Department of Defense agency that aims to gain and maintain employer support of Guard and Reserve service.

The Fitial administration has proclaimed Sept. 20-26 as Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Week in the CNMI.
