GOVERNOR Arnold I. Palacios on Monday nominated Donna Flores to the Northern Marianas College Board of Regents.

Flores, the Public School System’s special education program director, will fill the seat vacated by former Regent Irene T. Torres, whose four-year term expired on May 29, 2024.

In his letter to Senate President Edith Deleon Guerrero, the governor said he and Lt. Gov. David M. Apatang are confident that Flores is qualified and will be an asset to the NMC board.

Her nomination, if confirmed by the Senate, “will allow our islands’ primary institution of post-secondary education to have the support necessary to provide high-quality, affordable and accessible education programs and services for the individuals and people of the Commonwealth,” Palacios said.

In his nomination letter to Flores, the governor said he and the lt. governor are confident “that you are highly qualified and will be an asset to this important Board of Regents. If my office can be of any assistance regarding your confirmation, please let me know. Your willingness to serve our people is most appreciated.”
