The 2010 MMAC committee members expresses their sincere appreciation to the staff and management of GPPC for their generous support of the fight against cancer.
All proceeds donated and raised at the 2010 MMAC will be spent locally on cancer patient assistance and other related services.
Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in the Northern Mariana Islands and events like the Marianas March Against Cancer help raise critically needed funds to fight this deadly disease.
The MMAC is the largest fundraising event in the CNMI that supports cancer awareness programs and cancer patient assistance.
It is sponsored by the Commonwealth Cancer Association, a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization that ensures that all funds raised are spent locally.
The 2010 Marianas March Against Cancer will be held on May 14-15 at the Hopwood Junior High School field in Chalan Piao. The overnight event will begin at 6 p.m. and end at 6 a.m.
Thirteen teams are confirmed to compete under three different categories: napu (school), pulan (family), atdao (government/NGO), puti’on (corporate).
Food and games will be available the whole night for the entire community to enjoy.
