Grace Christian Ministries celebrates 25 Years

GCM President Rev. Raymond Kinsella and congregation members invite the community to celebrate their 25th anniversary with a thanksgiving service and a day of fun and fellowship at Grace Christian Assembly on Navy Hill.

The Sunday service will begin at 9 a.m., followed by lunch and games.

“Twenty-five years ago God gave several of us young ministers on Guam a vision to start a ministry on Saipan,” said Kinsella. “This month’s celebration is a thank you to God for His faithfulness in allowing us to realize that vision to share His love with this community through Grace Christian Assembly and Grace Christian Academy.”

What started as a Teen Challenge Center inside a former laundry mat in 1985 has grown to a ministry with a congregation of nearly 300 on Sunday mornings and over 275 students enrolled in Kindergarten through 12th grade.

Since its opening in 1986, GCA has grown to a student body at its peak of over 700 students from kindergarten-4 to 12th grade. Three hundred have graduated since 1986 and have pursued post-secondary education in colleges and universities in seven countries, including the United States, Korea and Japan.

The outreach of the church has continued through weekly community Bible study groups, as well as ministries for men, women, children, and youth. Worship ministry, hospital ministry, agape ministry food distribution and multimedia ministry all provide church members opportunity for service.

“Our guiding scripture through the years has been John 4:35, ‘I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest…Others have done the hard work you have entered into their labor,’” said Kinsella.

“There is still so much work that still need to be done and our eyes are still lifted to the need to share God’s loves in the CNMI and beyond. God is truly faithful!”

In 1992 Grace Christian Ministries assumed the oversight of Assemblies of God churches on Rota and Tinian. By 1996 it had also established Christian schools on both islands. In 2009, the General Council of the Assemblies of God  of the Northern Marianas was established with oversight for all the AG ministries in the CNMI, as well as Palau.
