Among the dozens of attendees was Sen. Tina Muna-Barnes, who co-sponsored legislation that was eventually signed into law earlier this year.
“Recognizing the need to keep this growing global problem at the forefront, it was important to hold the training conference to continue moving forward with local efforts in the fight against human trafficking,” Attorney General Alicia Limtiaco said.
“The issue of human trafficking is a concern for Guam because it results in other violations of law such as sex trade; proliferation of minors; labor abuse; and human rights violations,” Limtiaco said. “This training and future ones like it will ensure that the problem does not grow.”
