Starting tomorrow, the department will resume its mass vaccination drive.
Public Health Deputy Secretary Pedro T. Untalan announced on Friday the three sites for the mass vaccination:
• Jan. 12, at the Tuesday Market, Garapan Fishing Base, starting at 4:35 p.m.
• Jan 14, Garapan Street Market at the Paseo de Marianas, 5 p.m.
• Jan. 16, at the Sabalu Market, Civic Center in Susupe, 9 a.m.
Untalan said the mass vaccination program is in line with the National Flu Vaccination Week which started on Jan. 10 and ends on Jan. 16.
The basic message is, “Together, we can fight the flu,” he added.
“Protect yourself, your family and our community by getting vaccinated. The more people who get vaccinated the less likely the flu will spread in the coming months,” he said.
Public Health immunization manager Mariana Sablan Coats said they have 16,000 available doses.
The CNMI, she added, was allocated 56,000 vaccines and had received 25,000 already.
Since the department started giving the vaccine on Nov. 30, 8,300 doses had been administered to members of the community, including private and public school students, she added.
