Saipan Post Office officer-in-charge Jacqueline Camacho, who has been working at the post office for 18 years now, left on Sunday for a two-week training in Honolulu.
“The training will give me more knowledge on what I must do as an officer-in-charge,” she told Variety before she left.
She said this will be her first time to attend a training after being designated as officer-in-charge.
“They want me to learn a lot in a very short time, but I’m up for the challenge, I’m very excited to learn a lot more. I know a lot but it’s always good to learn something new,” she added.
Camacho said they still receive complaints from customers whose packages have not arrived.
“We have this image now that people put on us that we’re stealers. We explain to the customer that these things happen and we try to convince them to make sure to insure their packages because insurance really works,” she added.
She said that they try to make people understand that their office is trying its best.
Honda said once Camacho returns, “she will be able to give employer orientation — she can do all the training so it would be easy to have more employees.”
