HONIARA (Pacnews) — The Solomon Islands government was scheduled to meet aid donors here yesterday to seek for more assistance to help with the country’s economic problems.
The government said it will be presenting a four-point National Economic Recovery Plan designed to address the country’s urgent financial and debt situation, which is said to be unsustainable and in need of immediate attention.
Budget relief, development budget, transitional assistance to implement downsizing reforms, and debt relief programs, including a federal system to address the law and order situation in the Solomon Islands are all part of the plan.
