School principal Jonas Barcinas said the annual event was once again very successful, with students given the opportunity to learn about careers they’re interest in.
“The school sought out professionals who could speak about their careers and the path which led them to those careers,” he told Variety.
He said students expressed interest in public safety, the performing arts, agriculture and hospitality, among other professions.
Barcinas said he appreciated the professionals who spent time with their students.
He said the presenters shared their knowledge and experiences while inspiring students to pursue higher education.
Among the presenters were Attorney General Edward Buckingham, Tina Sablan, Ed Propst, Cukie Alvarez, Frank “The Crank” Camacho, Jonathan Liwag, Freddy Salavaria, Ronald Lamkin, Jason Tarkong, Department of Public Safety Commissioner Ray Mafnas who was represented by Pete Guerrero, Anthony Pellegrino, Michael Ogo, Dick Cody, Jeannette Rocher, Northern Marianas College president Sharon Y. Hart, Dr. Chad Lowe, Zenn Tomokane, Denise Montenegro, Pete Sablan, Steven Johnson and Mary Ann Lizama.

In related news, Pacific Amusement Inc. general manager James Gebhard made a $2,500 educational tax credit donation to Hopwood.
In 2010, Gebhard donated $5,000 along with various sports and award trophies as well as school supplies.
Barcinas said each school year, local businesses provide Hopwood and other schools with monetary donations that allow them to procure services, instructional materials and supplies.
Hopwood is very grateful to Pacific Amusement and other local businesses that are helping Hopwood despite the bad economy, Barcinas added.
