Humanities Council to hold cha-cha fundraiser

“The event is the first ever cha-cha dance competition to be held on island,” event organizer Laila Y. Boyer said.

There will be live music from  Parker, Maggie Naputi and Burning Bush as well as raffle prizes.

In the dance competition, the criteria are timing, rhythm and technique.

Winners will be given cash prizes worth $250 for first prize, $150 for second prize and $100 for third prize

“Everyone, young and old, is invited to join in,” Humanities Council program development chairwoman Janet King said. “It is for all who love to put on their dancing shoes and have fun while supporting a non-profit organization.”

Tickets are available at the council office beside the XO Market on Middle Road.

Each ticket costs $10 and includes a complimentary drink.

The sponsors are Bridge Capital, Saipan World Resort, Budweiser, Burnett Vodka, Leaping Horse, LCC and Gresco.

Marianas Pacific Distributors is teaming up with Budweiser and its other house brands to offer happy hour prices for beers, drinks and wines.
