‘In The Spotlight’ gets positive feedback from community

She said she received so many calls and text messages congratulating them for the new local show.

“A lot of people are already asking what the next topic will be. We would like to keep the topics as informative and entertaining as possible,” Ada-Hocog said.

For the next episode, which will air next month, Ada-Hocog said  the topic will be cyber crimes.

“This is a timely issue and through the show, we want to spread awareness and keep the people updated,” she said.

“Stay tuned as we bring in more interesting topics and tap issues that affect the lives of people in the CNMI,” Ada-Hocog said.

The pilot episode was titled “Decades of Memories — A Christmas Special” and featured individuals representing different cultures. Each narrated how Christmas was celebrated in their own countries or islands in the past and in the present.

Show producer/editor Edwin Sta. Theresa of Digital Motions said  they are all happy with the success of the show despite  the “birthing pains.”

“There was so much to be done from all sides — such as getting the commercials together and tying all loose ends from the technical side and we had to finish everything in two weeks, but we did it,” Sta. Theresa said.

“We want to produce more local shows that the community can enjoy and get involved in,” he added.

The pilot episode will be replayed on Channel 7 from 5:30 to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday for the rest of the month. Suggestions are also welcome for possible future topics. Sponsors of  “In the Spotlight” are 360 Revolving Restaurant, IT&E, Make-Over Salon, Saipan Southern High School-Utt group and the Tan Siu Lin Foundation.
