Inos and other officials were seen cleaning the roadsides and trimming vegetation at the intersection of Chalan Msgr. Guerrero and Middle Road in San Jose on Friday morning.
It was their second austerity Friday cleanup. The first was at the intersection of Dandan Road and Isa Drive in San Vicente all the way to the intersection of Airport Road and Chalan Msgr. Guerrero in Dandan.
Inos said they conduct the cleanups on a volunteer basis.
Besides beautifying the island, the activity is also good for one’s health, he added.
Inos said he appreciates those who have joined him since they started two weeks ago. Although most government offices are closed on austerity Fridays, officials can still do something good for the community on those days, he added.
Inos hopes their cleanups will inspire more people to volunteer their time for the good of the community.
