Following the announcement and awarding of winners, guests were treated to colorful presentations and the dance numbers of different performers at the Paseo de Marianas stage.

Early this month, a seven-member panel of judges evaluated the entries based on relevance to the theme, attractiveness, creativity, design and durability.

The contest aims to encourage recycling among Saipan students.

On Nov. 30, PDM Promoters provided the participants with nine-foot tall Christmas trees which the students decorated with ornaments fashioned out of mineral water bottles, corks, Styrofoam, cans, paper cups and plates and other recycled materials.

“If you have not seen the creativity and ingenuity of the students yet, visit the Paseo de Marianas at night,” Sonia Siwa of PDM promoters said.
