At the scene, officers met with the caller who stated that she would like to file a complaint against her boyfriend.
The victim told police that Jay Muna had pushed, hit, and headbutt her earlier. The victim was transported to the Commonwealth Health Center for further treatment before police were able to interview the victim.
Police were told that Muna had fled the scene before they arrived in a vehicle.
Later that day at approximately 11 a.m., police conducted a violator stop on a vehicle and noticed that Jay Muna was the operator. He was then taken into custody, brought to Kanoa Resort for clearance before being transported to the Department of Corrections where he was booked and detained.
Muna was later released.
On Sept. 15, 2020, Superior Court Judge Govendo issued an arrest warrant for Muna for the charges of disturbing the peace, assault & battery, and domestic violence with bail set at $5,000.
On Sept. 15, 2020, Muna was apprehended by police at a residence Koblerville. He was then brought to Kanoa Resort for clearance before being transported to Corrections where he now waits for his next court appearance.
