Joyner admits ‘ice’ trafficking

Joyner, who was released to his third-party custodian, was represented by his counsel, Bruce Berline.

Assistant U.S. Attorney James J. Benedetto prosecuted the case.

In the plea agreement, Joyner admitted that he possessed and distributed “ice” on Sept. 12 and Oct. 8, 2008, and March 17, 2009.

The total quantity of “ice” that he possessed was at least 500 milligrams, but less than one gram, the agreement stated.

Joyner and Sharee Demapan Diaz were arrested by the Drug Enforcement Administration last October.

Early this month, Diaz, who was also released to her third-party custodian, pleaded guilty to one count of aiding and abetting possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

Diaz will appear in federal court on April 20 for her sentencing hearing.

Benedetto also prosecuted this case.
