Under the leadership of its block captain Frank Camacho, the Dandan task force village revitalization program focuses on the beautification of the village and has been very successful.
Every Saturday, the Dandan task force regularly trims and cuts down overgrown vegetation in the village.
In Kagman, block captain Glenn Dikito said they will meet with other community members on Saturday to pursue the cleanup program.
On Tuesday night, he said he had a meeting with Rep. Frederick Deleon Guerrero, Ind.-Saipan, concerning the beautification program in Kagman.
Dikito is encouraging Kagman residents to attend the meeting on Saturday morning at 8 a.m. at the Kagman II pavilion.
After the meeting, he said they will conduct the cleanup drive.
“I would like to encourage them to bring bush-cutters, lawn mowers and other cleaning equipment,” he said.
Ramon B. Camacho, Saipan and Northern Islands municipal council chairman and prime mover of the task force, expressed support for the plan.
“I hope everybody will participate because this is for a good cause,” he said.
The task force, he added, believes that a clean environment is a safe environment.
