Kilili: NMI Democratic Party offers voters more choices

Kilili, who joined the local Democrats in the presentation of certificates of candidacy at the party headquarters in Garapan on Thursday, said  in previous elections there was just one political party.

“And so you have this government that has favoritism, and all kinds of things, corruption, some say, so I think it is important [to have not just one political party],” he said.

Kilili, who is running as an independent candidate, said the NMI Democratic Party candidates in this election are “good, smart and honest people.”

“I think they are going to be hard working people. So I hope people would consider the Democrats,” he added.

“I’m independent and I am not saying only Democrats are good candidates — there are good independent candidates, and good Republican candidates, too, of course, but I think this competition will be good,” said Kilili who is running unopposed.

“So I’m glad that the Democrats have [offered] more choice and we’ll see. Let the people decide,” he added.
