THE offices of outgoing U.S. Congressman Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan on Saipan, Tinian and Rota will remain open to the public through Dec. 13, 2024.

In his e-newsletter on Friday, Kilili, who will be succeeded by Delegate-elect Kimberlyn King-Hinds in January 2025, said effective Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024, “your Capitol congressional office at 2267 Rayburn House Office Building will be vacated.”

He said all members of the U.S. Congress who are retiring or were not re-elected are moving out to allow the House of Representatives to prepare for the next Congress that will convene on Jan. 3, 2025.

He said the Washington-based congressional staff will still be present but in a common workspace at Rayburn House to answer calls or help constituents with tours of the Capitol.

“Only the physical office that has been our home for the last four years will no longer be available. Meanwhile, the congressional offices on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota will remain as they are and open to serve you through December 13,” Kilili said.

He also reported that the U.S. Department of Labor awarded the CNMI $18,571 for mine safety and health training.

The grant, which is administered by the Mine Safety and Health Administration, aims to reduce accidents, injuries, and illnesses in mining and quarry operations with federally mandated training courses, Kilili said.

He added that the CNMI was the only U.S. territory to receive MSHA funding, joining 45 states and the Navajo Nation.

The CNMI’s first delegate to Congress, Kilili, was elected in 2008 and re-elected in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020, and 2022. He did not seek a ninth term
