Kilili to hold inauguration on Saipan

Sablan, in an interview yesterday, said he would like to be inaugurated at a school sometime late in January or early February so the students can also witness it.

Guam Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo, he added, will also be inaugurated on her island for the first time.

Guam District Court Presiding Judge Frances M. Tydingco-Gatewood will swear  in Sablan.

This way, he added, “many of our people will have the opportunity to witness the inauguration.”

He has 10 slots only for guests in  his Washington, D.C. inauguration.

Sablan recalled that when he got elected into office the first time, he invited Fitial to the inauguration.

“But he had to be somewhere else,” Sablan said, referring to the governor.

According to the congressman, the governor is trying to address the CNMI’s problems.

“I don’t think he would want to come to Washington for one day and a 16-minute ceremony. I think he would rather stay here and look at these problems,” Sablan said.
