Education Commissioner Rita Sablan commended the school for using wisely the donation it received from the Dr. Tan Siu Lin Foundation.
The expansion project, according to KoES principal Rizalina M. Purugganan, will allow students to spend more time in the library.
“It’s no longer crowded,” she said.
Edward Arriola Jr. of Tan Holdings said the library expansion is the second school project sponsored by the foundation.
The first was at the University of Guam, he added.
School librarian Mary Jane Villagomez said the library is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and kindergarten II to sixth grade classes are each given 40 minutes once a week to use the library.
However, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., the library is open to all students.
“They can do research and paperwork. The library is now spacious and the students can move freely,” Villagomez said.
