Bridge Capital account executive Rowena C. Relado yesterday said they had already received a lot of entries as of yesterday morning.
“A lot of our artists waited for the last minute and turned in their works starting yesterday, but we are still encouraging others who have not yet submitted their works for the contest to do so before the 12 noon deadline tomorrow,” Relado said.
Artists 18 and older can join the open competition category while students from kindergarten to 12th grade can join the second category.
At stake is the $2,500 grand prize for the open competition. The first prize will get $1,500 while the second and third prize winners will get $1,000 and $500. For the student category, the top entries will receive $100 while the classroom teacher of the winning student will receive $100 store credit at National Office Supply.
Bridge Capital LLC launched the annual art competition last year with Ross B. Wood winning the $2,500 grand prize.
The competition aims to promote and support art education and local artists.
