May 8 and 9, Saturday and Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., are the last days for registered overseas absentee voters to submit their accomplished ballots.
The consulate general will receive ballots from registered Filipino overseas absentee voters only until May 10 at 8 p.m., the last day of voting.
Weekends have accounted for a big part of the ballots submitted. Over 53.5 percent of the total ballots received were submitted during weekends.
More than 2,000 overseas absentee voters have already turned in their accomplished ballots. A little over 500 ballots are still with the voters for submission to the consulate. More than 4,500 ballot packages remain unclaimed at the consulate.
Registered Filipino overseas absentee voters are advised to visit or call the consulate to arrange for the mailing of their ballot packets. Completed ballots may be submitted directly or mailed to the consulate.
The consulate reiterates its request to all registered Filipino overseas absentee voters to turn in their ballots as soon as possible and avoid the last day rush.
