Law firm withdraws as counsel for IPI

THE San Nicolas Law Office LLC on Tuesday filed a motion with the District Court for NMI, withdrawing as counsel for Imperial Pacific International in a lawsuit filed by Tang’s Corporation against the casino investor.

Attorney Joey P. San Nicolas said, “Professional considerations warrant withdrawal.”

Citing Rule 1.16 of the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct, he said lawyers should also be mindful of the confidentiality obligations to their clients.

He said should the court require additional information as to the basis for his law office’s withdrawal, he respectfully requests the court to allow him to submit confidential information under seal.

San Nicolas stated that the defendant does not oppose his motion to withdraw.

Tang’s Corporation sued IPI for breach of construction contract agreement and consulting services, and demanded $331,023.52 in damages.

According to the lawsuit, Tang’s Corporation and IPI entered into an agreement in 2016 for the removal of construction debris from the casino resort construction site, and for storing it for disposal at IPI’s expense, but IPI failed to pay the agreed amount.
