FORMER Saipan U.S. Customs Border Patrol port director Jeffrey Hofschneider Jr. has been named assistant area port director at Seattle-Tacoma, Washington Area Port.
Hofschneider’s last day at the Saipan CBP was Friday, April 12, 2024. His successor is Supervisory CBP Officer Ferdinand Mallari, who assumed the port director of the CNMI position effective April 7, 2024.
Born on Saipan, Hofschneider was raised on Tinian and graduated from Tinian High School.
A former CNMI Immigration employee, he joined CBP in March 2010 and became the Saipan/CNMI port director in 2019.
In a recent notice to elected officials, government heads, and stakeholders, Hofschneider expressed his appreciation for their collaboration during his tenure.
“Your support, cooperation, and unwavering commitment have played an integral role in every accomplishment and success story we have written together. I wholeheartedly extend my sincere gratitude for your guidance and professional camaraderie, which has positively refined this journey,” the CBP official said.
“Leaving this role was not an easy decision, but I am confident that the friendly and productive relationship we have fostered will be maintained and further strengthened. I trust that our paths will cross again in the future and our shared vision of excellence and endurance will remain intact,” Hofschneider added.
