Villagomez said their group is now looking for someone who can be moderator at the forum —“somebody who has integrity.”
He said they may invite as paneliest Ray Mafnas, senior policy adviser of the governor; John Joyner, director of Coastal Management Resources; Frank Rabauliman, director of the Division of Environmental Quality; and other personalities.
According to Villagomez, Pew, at one time, invited them to at the Hyatt Regency Hotel but their group was not given sufficient time to express their opinions.
“Let’s act as adults — Let’s respect each other’s opinion,” Villagomez said.
He favors similar forums on Rota and Tinian.
These forums, he said, will inform the public about the issues involved with the Pew proposal.
Asked if their group already has a name, Villagomez replied, “you may call us Citizens against Pew’s Monument.”
Angelo O. Villagomez, Pew’s Saipan coordinator, said he “would be more than happy to meet with” Joaquin Villagomez’s group.
Angelo Villagomez said the forum should be conducted in a truthful and respectful manner.
